ABOUT THE ROLE:


Time to be part of something new? We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Data Analyst in our recently established Insights Team. This is a great role to have a real impact by joining the team as we shape the next chapter in insights delivery at Nominet. You will have the opportunity to work with data that spans all areas of the business from technical performance and finance data through to customer and marketing data. You will put data and insights in the hands of the business driving decision making and having a real impact on how things are done.


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING: 

 

Having gained an understanding of Nominet's data, you will be part of a wider Data and Insights team supporting our core business units in supporting their customers - working to find the best analytical data solutions to issues across the business. 

You will also: 

 

  • Create and deliver BI dashboards which put data in the hands of the business bringing data driven insights to daily decision making 
  • Visualise data in imaginative ways to tell stories about what's going on in our business and what action we should take 
  • Modernise, automate and streamline processes to ensure regular reports can be delivered in a seamless way
  • Liaise with Data Engineers to ensure the insight function has data which is accurate and fit for purpose
  • Utilise machine learning algorithms delivered by Data Scientists and develop your own statistical models to utilise advanced analytics to answer business problems


WHO YOU ARE

 

With experience as a Data Analyst, you will have a true passion for accuracy, insights and value add analytics. With a very inquisitive and analytical mind, you will have the capability to think laterally and look beyond the obvious. Problem solving will be second nature to you, prioritising and delivering multiple requirements at the same time as well as working to tight deadlines. 

 

In addition, we are looking for: 

 

  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Qliksense, Power BI or another BI tool
  • Experience querying databases using SQL
  • An understanding of data manipulation and preparation of data for analysis
  • The ability to present complex information in a clear way to business stakeholders and tell a story using data.A
  • Experience in programming skills - Python, R, SAS, SPSS or stata (or others)
  • The ability to present complex information in a clear way to a variety of audiences, with excellent interpretational and visualisation skills.

 

The following skills are desirable:

 

Experience of using statistical techniques such as linear and logistics regression, CHAID analysis, clustering and dimensionality reduction techniques
Experience of using data in the tech industry
