Nominet are seeking a Back End Developer / Data Engineer to work in a data engineering capacity within our Registry business. The main goal is to facilitate sophisticated company-wide data-driven decision making through the creation of cutting edge data solutions and the transformation of existing systems. 


You will be responsible for the end-to-end pipelining and delivery of data to a range of stakeholders, utilizing your skills to build highly fault tolerant, scalable and automated systems. Exposure to dev-ops practices would be particularly beneficial. Supported by the Lead and Senior Data engineers, you will be part of a highly motivated team, making a real difference to how data is sourced and accessed.




  • 3+ years java and python experience
  • experience working with map-reduce technologies (e.g. apache Spark)
  • familiarity with data warehousing principles
  • proven ability to learn new technologies




  • experience with AWS services
  • experience with Docker
  • experience with DevOps practices
  • experience with legacy Oracle toolsets, ODI and OBIEE




  • Implementation of sustainable options/solutions to everyday issues
  • Maintain the tools and technology required to deliver timely and accurate data in order to deliver insights, reports, analytics, and data-based value add outputs into the Nominet business (and our extended customers) 
  • Fix immediate issues and evolve longer-term forward-thinking tools / techniques.  
  • Responsibility for Implementing, testing, debugging and cut over of ETL, OBIEE, and Warehouse toolsets by 2024  
  • Responsibility for regular documentation and sharing of all processes and tools changes / updates/modifications and reusable codes, processes, and learning. 
  • Ensure that the data sets are rich, accurate, fresh, managed, compliant, and fit for purpose
