About our role


In this newly formed role, you will manage Nominet’s small by mighty in-house communications team, responsible for media relations, website content, corporate social media and helping develop the Nominet brand.  When we engage agencies to support us, you will ensure the relationship is well managed, and the team are equipped to deliver the key communications needs of the business.  You’ll ensure Nominet’s communications across all corporate channels are clear and compelling, putting in place effective programmes to ensure efficient and creative delivery of impactful communications to internal and external audiences. You’ll identify stories that help stakeholders understand the important role Nominet plays in the digital economy. 


But there’s a whole lot more to this role too...

  • Ensure the ongoing implementation of the corporate communications strategy, generating key messages which reflect the Nominet brand across all platforms (website, speeches, print and online)  
  • Quickly gain an understanding of immediate operational priorities alongside a strategic view. 
  • Maintenance and supervision of Nominet’s corporate identity 
  • Lead on and be accountable for Nominet’s corporate communications activities, including corporate brand management, communications, and other supporting communications activities as necessary.  
  • Support the development of our EVP from an internal and external communication perspective in conjunction with the HR team. Clearly identifying what Nominet stands for and ensuring those brand attributes are well understood and presented.  
  • Identify and be the point of escalation for stakeholder issues and act appropriately to address issues  
  • Creative thinker and writer – able to quickly develop concepts into solid deliverables

Who you are?

To be a great fit for our team, you’ll have a real interest and enthusiasm for communications (it goes without saying right?). You’ll have a nose for a story and be able to drive positive media coverage. You’ll have fresh and exciting ideas, the product of an inquisitive and creative mind, and be able to translate this into an effective comms strategy. You’ll have the ability to think laterally and look beyond the obvious to problem solve more effectively.


In terms of the nitty-gritty... you’ll also have…

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  
  • Strong editing and proof-reading skills  
  • Knowledge of the Tech sector (ideal but not essential)
  • Experience as an accomplished people manager  
  • Understanding external stakeholder relationships and developing these  
  • Experience of press and stakeholder relations.   
  • Communication delivery though multimedia

We operate a hybrid way of working, balancing time between the office and home. Some roles may be more flexible and mostly remote – this is always role dependant so worth covering off in any conversations you have throughout the process.
