About the role  
As a Quality Assurance Engineer in the Domains team at Nominet, you will be working on the software that enables our customers to manage domains in .uk and other domain name registries.  You will be a key part of one of our friendly and collaborative engineering squads, using your skills and experience in QA and automation to support quality activities for the whole team. Day to day tasks will include developing and improving our test automation tools and frameworks, ensuring that the team adheres to QA best practices, and helping the team to produce high-quality deliverables.
 
The essential bits  
It’s essential that you have at least some experience and interest in programming and are comfortable testing applications that don’t have a GUI. We're using Cypress so if you've used this in the past that's awesome, but mindset and approach is more important to us than specific technologies so please still get in touch if you've used other automation frameworks. Experience of working with RESTful APIs, relational databases, and command-line environments will all help you succeed at this role, but please do apply even if you don’t have all of these - we’d love to hear from you if you’re interested in our work and think you could bring something to this team!
 
About you and your experience
We are in the process of strengthening our use of agile methodologies, so experience in Scrum or similar would be a big plus. If you’ve taken part in sprint planning and backlog refinement in the past we’d be interested to hear about that. Our teams are cross-functional, so you’ll be working with developers and product owners as well as other QA experts, so ideally you’ll have some experience of speaking up for QA best practices in a mixed-skill environment. Finally, our automation work is still maturing so ideally we’re looking for someone who has been involved in setting up frameworks and tooling in the past or has lots of experience using mature test infrastructure.

Salary
