About the role:

 

You will lead our Back-End Operational Applications Team who are responsible for high availability, high performance critical applications at the heart of Nominet’s world-leading domain name registry business.

 

Our critical national infrastructure supports the UK’s online economy, and our registry platform is used by our customers throughout the world to register and manage .uk, as well as other domain names.

 

This role is supporting your team to deliver new functionality, troubleshoot code, investigate issues and enable the team to continue to build and support those high availability systems which run in an on-prem environment.

 

There are a number of interesting projects in the pipeline and we need someone who will support us with the strategy to update our applications and support that embedding of change within Nominet.

 

The essential bits:

 

You will have experience of managing teams using Java and knowledge of relational databases. Demonstrable experience of the SDLC, agile methodologies and continuous integration tools k would be beneficial.

 

You will be used to complicated problem solving and work in a collegiate cross collaborative way.

You will be experienced in fostering a culture of coaching and be able to demonstrate effective team management aligned to our values of ownership, integrity and boldness.

 

You will drive change through consultation and collaboration, nurturing and developing relationships effectively to continuously improve software and evolve processes to achieve and maintain excellent service levels.
