About the role: 

 

Security and resilience are top priorities as Nominet systems are integral to the continued operations of the Internet. This new role covers broad aspects of security architecture, you will help shape future security operations, working on services of high complexity and risk, making decisions to enable the business to achieve its needs.   

 

You will managing a small team to of likeminded individuals who are proud to help safeguard Nominet’s infrastructure and data systems by ensuring best practice security architecture and the secure development of our private, public and hybrid cloud environments.  

 

The essential bits: 

 

You will have a coaching style of leadership, supporting and encouraging ongoing development with a growth mind set and the ability to lead the translation of business requirements into functional and non-functional security controls and designs. 

 

You will have experience of leading complex architectural initiatives and identifying areas for security improvement backed by impeccable knowledge of security systems architecture and principles of good software development 

 

Extensive experience and understanding of architectural principles around Infrastructure and Cloud technologies. 

 

About you and your experience: 

 

You will have experience of managing a team through a coaching and collaborative approach, coupled with impeccable experience of managing business change at a strategic level to improve security within design, development and testing lifecycle.  

 

You will be an expert in understanding and can apply security concepts to a technical level, at the highest levels of risk complexity and effectively plan, problem solve and use initiative to foresee and mitigate issues. 

 

It would be great if you had demonstrable experience working in security, 3 years within security architecture and security qualifications such as CISSP, SABSA/TOGAF or CISM, would be advantageous but we recognise that this can be replaced by good quality experience in the workplace.
