About the role  

 

You will own the release management lifecycle within the Internet Engineering and Operations department. You will manage and coordinate all software and infrastructure releases, liaising with key stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle of development, testing and deployment periods. 

 

You will be responsible for the release management process in a software development environment and are passionate about wanting to work at the heart of the UK's critical internet infrastructure.  

  

The essential bits  

 

It’s essential that you have experience managing releases in a software development environment with an in-depth understanding of software development lifecycles and release processes  - including sprints and Agile.  Experience of writing clean and accurate documentation and have experience generating reports and tracking issues within JIRA or other tools.  Experience of working to ISO2000 standards would be beneficial as you will represent release management during ISO 20000 certification audits.  

 

You know how to review technical changes and infrastructure configurations within the Code Review process.  

  

About you and your experience 

 

The Release Manager role encompasses a wide range of skills and requires a good level of interaction across several cross-functional areas and at all levels of the project from junior members to executive leadership. Release Management is at the heart of our Delivery Model and is responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of release scoping , though development, testing environment builds and into Production. 

 

You will be working closely with Software Developers, Testers, DevOps engineers, Infrastructure Engineers and Project Managers across multiple teams  to ensure the release of quality products to our customers in a timely manner engaging with engineering teams as required to mitigate risk and keep the release schedule green. You will also coordinate with key stakeholders to ensure a smooth and effective launch.  

 

This is an opportunity to be in a role in which will substantially improve the effectiveness of our release management strategy, processes and tooling
