Project Manager (6m Fixed Term Contract)

ABOUT THE ROLE...

 

You will join our PMO team working across our Registry and Cyber Security business units in managing multiple and complex work streams with cloud computing at its heart. You’ll be working collaboratively with project sponsors to put in place project governance, which will be key in successfully delivering projects across operational teams and often with a cross company impact. 

 

This role can be based remotely with meaningful contact occasionally at our offices in Oxford. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING...   

You will join our PMO team working across our Registry and Cyber Security business units in managing multiple and complex work streams with cloud computing at its heart. You’ll be working collaboratively with project sponsors to put in place project governance, which will be key in successfully delivering projects across operational teams and often with a cross company impact. 

 

Some of the things you’ll get involved in doing include: 

 

  • Providing project updates and highlight reports as required. 
  • Ensuring project actions are completed, issues resolved and decisions agreed in a timely way.  
  • Working with colleagues to devise project plans and schedules and determine the critical path. 
  • Analysing and interpreting information, both written and numeric and produce reports  
  • Identifying, recording, managing and tracking project resources, risks and issues  
  • Writing documentation and customer facing communications. 
  • Delivering presentations and occasional training within the company on project progress and new developments. 
  • This role will assist in supporting our team and third party suppliers in Australia, therefore flexibility to work some early mornings will be a must- early birds keep reading!

 


WHO YOU ARE...   

As a Project Manager at Nominet, you will be a self-starter, proactive and love nothing more than the satisfaction of being part of a team and facilitating successful project delivery. You will work with large budgets on infrastructure and software projects with internal and external customers so the ability to manage changing workloads and conflicting priorities is a must.  

 

You will have, or be working towards a Project Management qualification such as PRINCE2, PMP, or APM or be Agile aware / trained with: 

 

  • an understanding of modern cloud computing  
  • extensive experience of managing projects with a technical interface.  
  • the ability to multi-task and juggle lots of strands of work with differing priorities as well as identifying and analysing risks and issues. 
  • significant experience of managing technical / infrastructure projects (this would be extremely desirable) 
  • experience of standard desktop applications (e.g. Microsoft Office and especially Project & Visio). 
  • experience of business process mapping. 

 

Experience of CRM Technology or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) would be highly advantageous.
