We are looking for a UX/UI Lead to join the Product team who manage our .UK product portfolio. Using your expert knowledge of user experience design, you will play a key role in crafting intuitive user interfaces, solving customer problems, and future proofing our product offerings.

You will work closely with your colleagues in the Product team to unify the look and feel of our web-based software, collating feedback from stakeholders across the business and incorporating findings from user research where required.

You will use your experience working with development teams ensuring that they have the information and understanding required to build user centred applications.

  • Create user-centred designs by understanding business requirements, and user feedback
  • Own all phases of the design lifecycle from user research (primary and secondary) to ideation, design execution and user testing
  • Design reusable UI elements such as input controls, navigational components and informational components
  • Create graphic designs as required (e.g. mock ups, sketches or prototypes)
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX problems (e.g. responsiveness)
  • Design assets such as wireframes and user flows.
  • Create roadmaps of UI/UX improvements across the board
  • Documented UI improvements as part of requirements capture
  • Carry out user research activities (including user interviews, stakeholder interviews, discovery workshops)
  • Collaborate effectively with product, engineering, and management teams, adjusting your approach to suit each situation
  • Incorporate customer feedback and usability findings into designs to enhance user experience
  • Produce and maintain style guides, or design blueprints as “quick reference guides” for the technical teams
  • Identify design problems and devise user centred solutions
  • Work closely with other members of the Product Team and developers to prioritise changes to current applications to improve usability and the user experience.




You'll have a pragmatic mindset with an understanding that prioritisation and time constraints sometimes change approaches. Effective communication skills allow you to collaborate with stakeholders at different levels of seniority across the business. 

In addition, we'd be looking for:

  • Experience with iterative design and development processes
  • Experience working in fast paced environments where you have employed different approaches to fit with the complexity of the project and the time available
  • Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of user-centred design
  • Experience of understanding new industries and a keen interest in learning about internet-based tech
  • Industry-leading knowledge of user experience and applying these principles to web application development
